Meet your Dietitian

Hi! I’m Hannah – an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a special interest in women’s health, gut health, disordered eating and supporting people living with a disability. My aim is to provide compassionate and evidence-based guidance and support, to improve your nutrition and ensure food is balanced and fun!)

My back story:

Like many women, I grew up confused about the relationship between food and my body. I was bullied about my weight and just wanted to fit in. I tried almost every fad diet—Atkins, paleo, low carb, sugar-free, fat-free, vegan, you name it. I was even scared of eating bananas (because, well…carbs). I also experienced gut symptoms like bloating at this time too.

Next I saw a naturopath, wondering what I was missing. They sold me $450 worth of supplements and recommended I follow a restrictive diet. Sure, I lost weight quickly, and yes—I felt amazing. But it wasn’t sustainable, enjoyable, or nourishing in the long term.

At this point I was finishing my degree in marketing. I realised just how deeply the media influences our relationship with food and our bodies. We’re constantly bombarded with contradictory messages: skinnier is better, natural is better, eat low fat, eat only fat...confusing people and damaging our self-worth.

Shortly after graduating, I heard a public health worker on the radio providing important health education to people during the Ebola outbreak in Africa. That moment changed everything. I knew I wanted to do something more meaningful—so I enrolled in a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. I haven’t looked back since.

During my studies, I was fortunate to have the ability to volunteer at a children’s hospital in Bolivia, where I worked with children in the burn’s unit and infants in the neonatal ward. I have a love for travel, languages and meeting people from all walks of life.

Since graduating as an Accredited Practising Dietitian, I have spent the past few years working as a health coach, and within the private practice space doing home visits, in-clinic and telehealth appointments. I have worked with people with complex mental health conditions, newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes, suspected PCOS, those experiencing perimenopausal weight gain and symptoms, and helping people living with a gastrostomy tube (PEG) - just to name a few!

I am also now a proud mum to my daughter, and have completed training in post-partum nutrition and introducing solids to babies.

Am I the right fit for you?

I strive to be compassionate and informative. I work with people to develop a realistic plan that is grounded in scientific evidence. There is no pressure, and I focus on meeting people where they are at in life - whether that is 100% motivated, or not quite sure if they are ready.
